CLM and Cake Alchemy of NY Partner for a Unique Wedding

In October we had the opportunity to work with Lauri Duttino of Cake Alchemy, who can be seen on WE TV's Amazing Cakes. Together with her team they created two spectacular cakes for Mia and Danny's Wedding in New York City.

Detailed perfection from the inside out. Cake Alchemy creates an elegant chemistry between you and your cake. Using only the best ingredients to please the eye as well as the palate. Complemented by hand crafted decoration that is both alluring and realistic. The final masterpiece is the perfect fusion of flavors, design and atmosphere.

Their wedding cake was a satellite cake which fit the ultra modern lounge theme for their wedding. "The satellite cake was a stunning and modern representation of what wedding cakes have become. A perfect balance of something unique, vibrant while still quite delicate."

Our Bride Mia wanted to surprise her now husband, Danny, with a replica cake of an ottoman from one of his favorite furniture designers, Mackensie Childs. "The ottoman cake was a true challenge of technique and design. Representing another artist in cake form is always exciting. Mackensie Childs is a phenomenal designer and to represent the work in cake was a real treat for everyone."

In addition to decorating ideas you will see at vendor booths, we have a special table scape gallery, trends gallery and photographers gallery to add to your notebook of ideas.

DAZZLING FASHION SHOWS: HOT TUXEDO SOLO WITH OUR VERY POPULAR MALE DANCERS. The latest gowns, tuxedos and floral designs are presented in a spectacular way everyone talks about. As winners of the BSPI Star Award for Best Bridal Fashion Show in 2008, you can be sure that not only will you see the latest fashions, but you will enjoy the show! There will be plenty of seating, so you don't have to stand during the show.

Our main Fashion Spectacular is held at 8pm Friday night and 12:30 Saturday afternoon. Then we have a totally different "New York Style" fashion show at 3pm on Saturday.

CAKE AND CATERER TASTINGS: Before you order the cake you need to taste it! Here is your opportunity to stop in and taste the cake and food samples at a variety of bakery and catering booths.

BEAUTY DEMOS: Want to experiment with your make up and hair? Stop in at one of our beauty demonstration booths and check out the latest beauty tips.

REAL Wedding of Jessica and Dalton

On January 23rd Jessica and Dalton were married at Loews Lake Las Vegas with sixty of their closest friends and family members. Their wedding truly reflected their personal style and personalities. Fuchsia, Black, White and Zebra Print was carried throughout the evenings theme.

One of the personal details of their wedding was when they stood front of a pink jeweled homeplate Reverend Linda Venniro married them at Loews Lake Las Vegas which later became a part of their grand entrance as Groom Dalton Slid across the dance floor and Bride Jessica called him "Safe" at home plate. The groom and his groomsmen wore real baseball boutonnieres!

Jessica was a very hands on bride and created the centerpieces with her friends and family which helped them to create their very personal and one of a kind wedding!

Once the wedding day is finally here, the father of the bride realizes that he has a big part in the ceremony and that is to give his daughter away! All of a sudden the jitters become too much and he forgets what and when he is supposed to do everything! (oh no!) We have came up with a little chant to make the father's job a lot less stressful and it goes like this..."kiss, shake, give.....kiss, shake, give!" Everyone seems to have had fun chanting it throughout the day and by the time the father is walking down the isle he is confident and ready to give his beautiful daughter away on the most important day of her life, so if you are a father of the bride just remember "kiss, shake, give," it's that simple!

Bowling Baby Shower

A Bowling Baby Shower.....It might possibly have been the BEST baby shower I have ever been to! Summer and Cathy wanted something different for their baby shower, something not stuffy, non traditional and an overall fun experience for all of their guests. They chose to have a Bowling Baby Shower at the Sea Bowl in Pacifica, CA.

Along with bowling we assisted Summer and Cathy with their table scape. Their linen consisted of a chocolate brown bichon with light blue napkins and chocolate chair covers with light blue chair ties. Their flowers consisted of white and ivory roses, calla lilies, "babies" breathe and white stock.

Pine-cone Wedding

If you want a really unique wedding theme, use pine-cones! This is the perfect theme for a fall or winter wedding that will be sure to surprise all of your guests.

Above is a cake from Martha Stewart Weddings. It is an ice blue fondant with real pine-cones painted with royal icing and sprinkled with sugar. The pine needles are made from chocolate.

This pine-cone bouquet was created by Rosenow Floral.Attach your guest names to a pine-cone and you have an inexpensive guest card, such as the above picture found off of eHow.

Pine-cones are neutral in color, so they work with any color palette. They also bring in some masculinity and look great as part of a boutonniere such as this one as seen on "The Orange Blossom" blog.

Real Wedding of Fawn and Dylan

This past weekend our Canadian couple came to Las Vegas to hold their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at The Platinum Hotel. This was a rooftop wedding with a garden theme ceremony.

Photography was provided by J&J Photography-who specialize in Weddings, Portraits, and Boudoir. They did an amazing job.  More photos soon to come.

Mix & Match Your Table Scape

Mixing and matching components of your table scape is a great way to personalize your wedding. You can use a variation of colors, patterns, or both. An easy way to to do this is is to use different colored chargers and place-mats. You can also use different colors or styles of linen. These are a few fun ways to make your table unique.

As seen in It's A Jamie Thing "Don't be afraid to use objects that you might not be used to seeing at the table such as bags over chairs (or maybe aprons, beaded necklaces, hats), large potted plants, umbrellas, etc. Tie it up and tie it in!"

A fun way to spruce up your bridal look is to match your shoes to your wedding color. One of my favorite bridesmaids trends allows for the bridesmaids to choose their own style of dress while sticking to the wedding party color which the bride has selected. It's great for bridesmaids to feel extremely comfortable and confident in what they are wearing-and this confidence will be reflected throughout the entire night. This is a simple solution to ensure your bridesmaids have a good time. By allowing your bridesmaids to choose their own style dress, it betters the look you want to achieve. Your bridesmaids will know what looks the most flattering on their body type. This trend is pleasant to both the eye of all your guests as well as comforting to the bridesmaids who know that they will certainly look their best.

Forget the Chocolate Fountain... Go Cereal!!!!

Looking for something different at your wedding? Tired of seeing the same chocolate fountain at every wedding? Although chocolate fountains are very delicious, why not do something a little closer to your heart. It is very rare that I would share a personal photo from my own wedding but this is the only cereal station I have ever seen at a wedding.

At the end of the night after all of our guests had eaten dinner, the cake had been cut and served we decided that we wanted our guests to have one more treat before they left for the evening. My husband, Justin, and I both love cereal. We love all types of cereal and could eat it all day long. After the cake had been cut we transformed our cake table into a custom cereal station where all of our guests could come up and serve themselves cereal and cold milk. We had cereal such as Captain Crunch, Coco Puffs, Trix, Shredded Wheat and Cinnamon Roll Cereal.

Our cereal station was a huge hit and still, one year later, people are still talking about how unique and fun our cereal station was!

Bridal Spectacular Supports Give.Gown.

Christie and Justin Hjelm, the owners of CLM Wedding and Events of Las Vegas, Nevada wanted to give back to the community and in a unique way. Christie and Justin started Give. Gown. which is an opportunity for brides and members of the bridal party to donate their wedding attire which will be auctioned off through various live, silent and online auctions.The concept is simple, just donate your new or gently used wedding gown or formal attire to give.gown. and we take care of the rest for you.

It is not required to have your gown cleaned before you send it, although it is greatly appreciated! Once your gown has been received it will be photographed and a brief description will be posted along with the photo on our online auction.

If your gown is chosen to be a part of our live auction we will send you photos and information about how much your gown was auctioned for and which charity your donation helped!

Our charities are selected very carefully and have a special meaning to each of us. Please visit our charities page for more information on our most recently selected charities!

This August you can make a difference! Visit the Bridal Spectacular Show in Las Vegas to donate your formal gowns and wedding gowns! Bridal Spectacular is setting up a special booth inside the entrance of the show to accept all of your gowns!
